Jarvis ("Service") uses artificial intelligence to help families book household services by sending and receiving text messages with service providers. Jarvis facilitates connections for babysitting, house cleaning, handyman repairs, and other family services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide:

  • Full name, phone number, and address
  • Service requirements (type of service, frequency, special needs or preferences)
  • Payment information and billing address
  • Communication preferences and timezone
  • Text message content exchanged with our Service
  • Home security details (e.g., gate codes, preferred entry points)

2.2 Information from Service Providers:

  • Full name, phone number, and service area
  • Availability and rate information
  • Background check results (with consent)
  • References and experience details
  • Service specializations (e.g., electrical, plumbing, pet care)
  • Text messages sent through our platform

2.3 Automatically Collected Information:

  • SMS metadata (timestamps, message length, sender/recipient IDs)
  • Device information (phone model, OS version)
  • Usage analytics (booking frequency, search patterns)
  • IP address and location data from text message traffic
  • Crash logs and error reports

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Facilitate bookings: Matching service providers with our family's needs and coordinating via SMS
  • Communications: Sending appointment reminders, policy updates, and service notifications
  • Legal compliance: Responding to legal requests or preventing fraud
  • Service quality: Collecting feedback and reviews to maintain provider standards

4. Text Message Communications

4.1 SMS Opt-In: By using our Service, you consent to receive automated and AI-generated text messages from Jarvis. Standard SMS rates apply.

4.2 Message Content: Our AI may compose and send text messages to propose service providers, confirm availability, negotiate rates, or reschedule appointments. 

4.3 Data in SMS: Text messages are transmitted through third-party SMS providers and may include personal information necessary to complete bookings. These providers maintain their own privacy policies.

5. Service Types and Information Shared

5.1 Childcare Services:

  • Your name, phone number, and childcare requirements
  • Child age ranges and special needs information

5.2 Cleaning Services:

  • Your name, phone number, and home address
  • Cleaning preferences, allergies, and sensitive areas
  • Schedule and frequency of service

5.3 Handyman/Repair Services:

  • Your name, phone number, and home address
  • Nature and location of repairs needed
  • Budget constraints and preferred scheduling

5.4 Other Services:

  • Relevant details specific to the service type requested

6. Information Sharing

6.1 With Service Providers:

  • Your name, phone number, and service requirements
  • Service-specific details necessary to provide an estimate or complete the work

6.2 Third-Party Service Providers:

  • SMS gateway providers (Twilio)
  • Payment processors (Venmo)
  • Background check services (with explicit consent)
  • Cloud hosting providers (AWS)
  • Analytics platforms

6.3 Legal Requirements:

  • Law enforcement requests supported by valid warrants
  • Court orders or subpoenas
  • Child safety investigations by authorized agencies
  • Health and safety investigations

7. Data Retention

  • Active booking data: Retained for 24 months following final transaction
  • SMS message logs: Retained for 12 months for customer support and dispute resolution
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized after 6 months
  • Background check results: Retained per applicable state law (typically 3–7 years)
  • Payment information: No sensitive payment information is stored.
  • Home security information: Deleted upon service completion or account termination

8. Security Measures

  • Encryption at rest for stored personal data
  • Restricted access to personal information (employee authentication required)
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing

Limitations: No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child's information is submitted, we will delete it upon discovery.

10. User Rights

10.1 Access and Correction: You may request a copy of your personal information and correct inaccuracies by contacting privacy@martechmatthew.com.

10.2 Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data. Residual copies may be retained in backups for up to 90 days.

10.3 Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. However, transactional SMS messages related to active bookings cannot be opted out of.

10.4 Data Portability: You may request your data in a machine-readable format (CSV, JSON) within 30 days.

11. AI and Automated Decision-Making

Our AI system analyzes service provider availability, rates, reviews, and qualifications to generate booking recommendations and compose text messages. You retain the right to human review and override any AI-generated suggestion or message before it is sent to a service provider.

12. Home Access and Safety

When service providers access our home, Jarvis does not monitor or control that access. You are responsible for:

  • Protecting secure gate codes or entry instructions only through our platform
  • Securing valuables during service appointments
  • Setting clear boundaries and expectations with providers

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, delete that information, and opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Contact privacy@martechmatthew.com to exercise these rights.
